The RadioMaster Boxer CC2500 is the specialized version of the Boxer designed for pilots who primarily use legacy protocols like FrSky, Futaba, or Hitec. While it lacks the extreme long-range power of the ELRS version, it is the perfect "all-rounder" for those with a fleet of older D8/D16 or SFHSS-based aircraft.
CC2500 Multi-Protocol Chip: Unlike the ELRS version, this radio uses the CC2500 RF chip. This allows you to bind directly to FrSky ACCST (D8 and D16), Futaba SFHSS, Hitec, Graupner, and more. It’s a "swiss army knife" for pilots who aren't ready to switch their entire fleet to ExpressLRS.
Full-Size Hall Gimbals: You get the same high-precision V4.0 Hall Effect gimbals found in the flagship models. They provide a smooth, wear-free experience and are fully adjustable from the front of the radio.
Compact "Boxer" Form Factor: The Boxer is famous for being "just the right size." It provides a solid grip for "pinchers" while remaining compact enough for "thumbers," filling the gap between the small Zorro and the large TX16S.
Expansion Ready: Because it features a standard JR Module Bay on the back, you can easily add a 1W ELRS module or a TBS Crossfire module later. This gives you the best of both worlds: legacy internal support and modern external long-range.
EdgeTX Power: Running on the latest EdgeTX firmware, the Boxer CC2500 offers limitless programming flexibility, a clear monochrome LCD, and a powerful speaker for voice alerts and telemetry data.
Technical Specifications:
Internal RF: CC2500 Multi-protocol (FrSky, Futaba, etc.)
Gimbals: Full-size Hall Effect (V4.0)
Screen: 128x64 Monochrome LCD
Working Voltage: 6.6V - 8.4V DC
Battery Bay: 110 x 40 x 35mm (Fits 2S LiPo or 18650s)
Expansion: Standard JR Module Bay
USB: 2x USB-C (1 for charging, 1 for Data/Simulator)
The Pilot's Reality Check:
Protocol Limitation: Note that the CC2500 chip does not support protocols that require the 4-in-1 chip (like DSMX/Spektrum or Flysky). If you need those, the 4-in-1 version of the Boxer is the better choice.
Range Performance: The CC2500 is a standard-range protocol. It is perfect for park flying, racing, and standard freestyle, but it does not have the "kilometers of range" that the ELRS version offers.
