The DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 is a sleek, ultra-responsive radio designed for seamless integration with the DJI O3 and O4 transmission systems. With a 7ms ultra-low latency and an ergonomic design optimized for "thumbers," it provides a direct, locked-in connection to your aircraft. Whether you're flying the Avata 2 or a custom O3-equipped freestyle rig, this controller offers the most stable and integrated DJI flight experience.

Product Description

The DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 is the standard radio for DJI’s digital ecosystem. It was launched alongside the DJI FPV Drone and has since become the primary controller for the DJI Avata and DJI Avata 2. It is highly praised for its low latency and its "console-style" ergonomics, which feel very natural to gamers.

  • Console-Inspired Ergonomics: Unlike traditional boxy FPV radios, the RC 2 feels like a modern gaming controller. It features high-quality Hall effect gimbals that are smooth and precise, with a matte finish that provides excellent grip during intense flights.

  • Seamless DJI Ecosystem Integration: This controller is designed to work natively with the DJI Goggles 2, Goggles V2, and Goggles 3. When paired with the DJI O3 Air Unit, you don't need an external receiver (like ELRS or Crossfire), as the Air Unit itself acts as the receiver for this radio.

  • Ultra-Low Latency: Optimized for high-speed flight, it achieves a latency as low as 7ms. This is critical for racing or tight freestyle maneuvers where every millisecond counts between your stick movement and the drone's reaction.

  • Simplified Controls: The layout includes dedicated buttons for switching flight modes (Normal, Sport, Manual), a customizable "C1" button, and a scroll wheel for gimbal tilt, allowing you to manage camera angles without taking your hands off the sticks.

  • Hall Effect Gimbals: The sticks use magnetic sensors rather than physical contacts, ensuring they don't wear out over time and provide a consistent "return to center" feel.

Technical Specifications:

  • Transmission System: DJI O3 / O3+ / O4

  • Weight: ~346g

  • Battery Life: ~9 Hours

  • Charging: USB-C (Supports fast charging)

  • Latency: 7ms

  • Max Transmission Distance: Up to 10km (FCC) / 6km (CE)

  • Operating Frequency: 2.400-2.4835 GHz / 5.725-5.850 GHz

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • The "Manual" Mode Necessity: If you want to fly the DJI Avata or Avata 2 in "Acro" (Manual) mode, this controller is required. You cannot perform flips or rolls using the DJI Motion Controller.

  • DJI Only: Keep in mind that this radio only works with DJI digital systems. You cannot use it to fly analog drones or drones equipped with other digital systems like Walksnail or HDZero.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Is it compatible with the DJI O3 Air Unit?

Yes. This is the native controller for the DJI O3 Air Unit, DJI Avata, and the original DJI FPV Drone. It is also compatible with the DJI Avata 2, Caddx Vista, and the original DJI Air Unit (when paired with DJI Goggles 2 or Goggles Integra). Note that it is not compatible with the newer DJI Neo or O4 systems, which require the Remote Controller 3.

  • Does it support "Manual Mode" (Acro)?

Yes. This is its most "asjalik" feature for freestyle pilots. By using the included screwdriver to loosen the screw on the back of the throttle stick, you can remove the self-centering spring. This allows for a traditional "ratcheted" or smooth FPV throttle, enabling full manual acrobatic control.

  • How is the battery life and charging?

The internal battery lasts for approximately 9 hours, which is exceptional for a compact radio. It charges via USB-C in about 2.5 hours. Unlike some other DJI controllers, it is quite picky about cables—it is often best to use a standard "USB-A to USB-C" cable rather than a high-power PD (Power Delivery) cable if you encounter charging issues.

  • What is the range?

Using the OcuSync 3.0 (O3) transmission system, it offers a max range of 9$10$km (FCC) or 10$6$km (CE).11 It operates on dual bands (12$2.4$GHz and 13$5.8$GHz) and automatically switches to the cleanest frequency to maintain a stable link even in high-interference environments.14

  • Is the stick tension adjustable?

Yes. On the back of the controller, under the rubber grips, there are adjustment ports. You can adjust the tension of the springs for both sticks to make them feel tighter or looser based on your flying style.
