The iFlight Defender 25 4S HD is a groundbreaking "protected" cinewhoop that redefines the user experience for digital FPV. Unlike traditional carbon-frame drones, the Defender 25 features a consumer-friendly modular design that aims to offer a DJI-like experience while maintaining the high-performance "locked-in" feel of a custom FPV quad.

Sub-249g "Reg-Free" Design: In most regions, drones under 250g do not require registration. The Defender 25 is purpose-built to stay under this limit with its standard 550mAh battery, making it the perfect stress-free travel companion.
Proprietary Quick-Release Batteries: Moving away from standard LiPos and messy Velcro straps, the Defender 25 uses specialized "hard-case" batteries that slide and click into place. This makes battery swaps fast and protects the cells during crashes.
Integrated Propeller Guards: The entire frame is an injection-molded aerodynamic duct system. This doesn't just protect the props—it also provides a small amount of extra lift and makes the drone safe to fly indoors or close to subjects.

What makes the battery system convenient?
The Defender 25 does not use traditional battery straps. Instead, it uses a crash-protected, slide-in battery case with a built-in connector. This prevents the battery from ejecting in a crash and makes swaps extremely fast. It also includes an "Anti-Spark" filter to prevent the annoying "pop" when plugging in.
Can it really fly for 10 minutes? Yes, but it depends on the battery.
- 550mAh Battery: Optimized for agility and keeping the weight sub-249g. Expect about 6 minutes of flight. - 900mAh "Endurance" Battery: Optimized for longer cinematic missions. This provides up to 10 minutes of flight but pushes the takeoff weight slightly over 249g (approx. 280g).
O3 vs. O4: Which one should I choose?
- Defender 25 O3: Uses the DJI O3 Air Unit (4K/60fps). It is a proven workhorse and compatible with Goggles 2, Goggles V2, and Goggles Integra. - Defender 25 O4 (New for 2025/2026): Features the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro with a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor for much better low-light performance and 1080p/100fps low-latency video. It is designed to work with DJI Goggles 3.
Does it have GPS?
By default, the later "V2" batches and the O4 version come with the iFlight BLITZ GPS pre-installed. This allows for "GPS Rescue" (Return to Home) and provides speed/distance data in your OSD, which is an convenient safety feature for a travel drone.
Is it good for beginners?
It is one of the best. The injection-molded guards are incredibly tough, and the landing gear is integrated into the frame to protect the motors. Because the props are fully protected, you can safely fly it indoors or close to people for "pro-style" cinematic shots.
