The DarwinFPV Darwin129 7" Long Range PNP is widely regarded as the most affordable entry point into the world of 7-inch long-range FPV. It is an upgraded, pre-built evolution of the older Eachine Tyro129, designed specifically to carry larger batteries and capture cinematic footage over long distances at a fraction of the cost of premium alternatives.
7-Inch Efficiency: The larger 7-inch propellers provide significantly more lift than standard 5-inch quads. This allows the Darwin129 to hover at very low throttle (~15-20%) and carry much larger batteries (like 4S 3000mAh+ Li-Ion packs) for extended exploration.
Wireless Tuning: The F4 flight controller comes with an integrated Bluetooth module. By using the SpeedyBee app on your smartphone, you can adjust PIDs, rates, and VTX settings at the field without ever needing to plug into a computer.
Upgraded GPS & Recovery: The V2 version replaces the older GPS with a more accurate Darwin M80 module, which locks onto satellites faster. Combined with the pre-installed tail buzzer and 8 high-brightness RGB LEDs, finding your drone after a long-distance landing is much easier.
Refined Build Quality: DarwinFPV has improved the hardware over previous iterations, adding silicone motor wires (which won't melt during soldering) and silicone dampers on the flight controller to reduce gyro noise for smoother footage.
Long-Range Video: The TX805 VTX provides up to 800mW of output power. When paired with the included high-gain long-range antenna, it allows for a solid video link several kilometers away (provided you have a clear line of sight).
Technical Specifications:
Wheelbase: 280mm (True-X Geometry)

Propellers: Gemfan Flash 7040-3 Tri-Blade
Weight: ~390g (Dry weight)
The Pilot's Reality Check:
Battery Choice: While the motors are rated for 3S-5S, most pilots fly this on 4S LiPo for freestyle or 4S Li-Ion for maximum flight time. If you want to use 6S, you must set a motor output limit (typically 75% or 80%) in Betaflight to avoid burning out the motors or ESC.
PNP Version: This is a "Plug-and-Play" model, meaning it does not include a receiver. You will need to solder in your own (ExpressLRS, Crossfire, or FrSky) before you can fly.
Camera Upgrade: The included B19 camera is functional but is often the first thing pilots upgrade to a higher-quality analog camera (like a RunCam Phoenix 2) for better clarity in varied lighting.
