The Walksnail Goggles X features dual 1080p OLED displays with a massive 50° Field of View (FOV) and 100fps refresh rate. It is the first digital goggle designed with a modular VRX, allowing the internal receiver to be swapped out for future hardware upgrades. With integrated head tracking, infrared sensing to save screen life, and support for 2S-6S power, it is built to be the last set of goggles you’ll need for years.

Product Description

The Walksnail Avatar HD Goggles X is the flagship digital FPV headset designed to be the "everything" goggle for modern pilots. By adding HDMI and Analog inputs, Walksnail has transformed what was once a single-ecosystem headset into a versatile hub capable of flying Walksnail, HDZero, and even old-school analog drones.

  • Future-Proof Modular Design: The upper section of the goggles is removable, allowing you to replace the receiver module as technology evolves without buying an entirely new headset.

  • OLED 1080p Clarity: The 1920x1080 OLED screens provide infinite contrast and vibrant colors. The 100Hz refresh rate ensures that the 22ms low-latency mode feels fluid and responsive during high-speed racing.

  • Massive Connectivity: Unlike its predecessor, the Goggles X includes Mini HDMI Input (for HDZero VRX or simulators), Mini HDMI Output, and a 3.5mm AV-In for analog modules.

  • Integrated Sensors: Features a built-in Gyroscope for head-tracking (ideal for long-range gimbal or fixed-wing pilots) and an Infrared Proximity Sensor that automatically turns the screens off when you take the goggles off.

  • Optic Adjustments: Offers a wide IPD range (54–74mm) and a built-in diopter adjustment (+2.0 to -6.0), allowing most users to fly without wearing glasses.

Technical Specifications:

  • Screen: Dual 1080p OLED (100Hz)

  • FOV: 50°

  • Resolution: 1080p / 720p (100fps support)

  • Latency: Average 22ms

  • Input Voltage: 7V – 26V (2S-6S LiPo)

  • Storage: MicroSD up to 256GB

  • Weight: ~290g (without antennas/strap)

  • Wireless: Built-in WiFi & Bluetooth (for app integration)

Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Antenna Quality: The included "stubby" antennas are decent, but for true long-range or "bando" penetration, most pilots immediately upgrade to high-gain patch antennas (like TrueRC).

  • Heat & Anti-Fog: While it has a built-in fan and internal heatsink, the goggles can get warm. Some pilots find the anti-fog airflow to be subtle; in humid environments, you may still need to power them up a minute before flying.

  • 5D Joystick Ergonomics: The menu navigation uses a 5-way joystick. On the Goggles X, the orientation is much more intuitive than the V1, but it still takes a few flights to build the "muscle memory" for the menu layout.

Flyer's POV: Putting on the Goggles X feels like sitting in the front row of an IMAX theater. The 50° FOV is huge—so large that you might actually see a tiny bit of blur in the extreme corners depending on your face shape. The image is incredibly sharp; you can see individual branches and wires that would be invisible on analog. It finally solves the "one goggle" problem—you can fly your high-end digital quads and then plug in a cheap analog receiver to fly your tiny whoops all in the same headset.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Is it compatible with Analog or HDZero?

Yes. Unlike the DJI system, the Goggles X features an AV IN port (via a 3.5mm jack) for analog modules and an HDMI IN port. This makes it a "universal" headset that can display digital Walksnail, HDZero, and traditional analog feeds.

  • What is the "Replaceable VRX" feature?

The top cover of the goggles is held by two screws. Walksnail designed this so that when they release the "Next Gen" transmission system (intended to hit 20km+ range), you can simply purchase a new internal board rather than an entirely new $500+ headset.

  • Does it have built-in Head Tracking?

Yes. The latest batches of Goggles X (post-September 2024) include a pre-installed Gyro/Head Tracking module. This allows you to control a gimbal-mounted camera on your drone simply by moving your head, which is incredibly immersive for long-range or fixed-wing flight.

  • How do I fix the "fogging" issue?

The Goggles X features an intelligent cooling system with internal fans to prevent the OLED screens from fogging up. If you still experience fogging, ensure the "Fan" setting in the menu is set to a higher level to maintain airflow across the lenses.

  • Can I use it if I wear glasses?

Most likely, yes. The goggles feature built-in Diopter Adjustment from 9$+2.0$ to 10$-6.0$.11 Additionally, the lenses are physically replaceable, allowing you to install custom prescription inserts for astigmatism or higher levels of myopia.12
