Revolutionary Magnetic Modular Design: The camera unit is a tiny 39mm square. It attaches to the Power Module via high-strength magnets and secure locking clips. This allows you to mount just the "brain" on a drone to save weight, then snap on the battery module back on the ground to charge or swap SD cards.

The Pilot's Reality Check:

Heat Management: Due to its tiny aluminum body, the Action 2 can get hot during long 4K/120fps recordings. For FPV, the airflow from the propellers usually solves this, but be mindful when recording on the ground.

Is the Power Module waterproof?
No. While the Camera Unit is waterproof down to 10 meters on its own, the Power Module is not waterproof. If you plan to submerge the camera while the module is attached, you must use the official DJI Waterproof Case (which protects both units down to 60 meters).
Where do I plug in the charger and SD card? The main Camera Unit has no ports and no SD slot—it relies on internal storage (typically 32GB or 128GB). To charge the camera or use a microSD card, you must snap on the Power Module. Once connected, the camera can access the external card and recharge its internal battery.
How does it handle overheating?
Due to its tiny aluminum body, the Action 2 can get very hot when recording at high resolutions like 4K/120fps. In "Standard" temperature mode, it may stop recording after a few minutes. To extend recording times, you can set the Auto-Stop Rec Temp to "High" or use the included Magnetic Protective Case, which helps dissipate heat and allows for longer clips.
Can I use this for FPV drones?
Yes, it is a favorite for FPV because the Camera Unit alone weighs only 56g. You can record 4K footage on the internal storage to keep the drone light, then snap on the Power Module after the flight to transfer the files to an SD card and top up the battery.
What is HorizonSteady?
HorizonSteady is DJI’s advanced stabilization that keeps the horizon perfectly level even if the camera rotates 360 degrees. Note that this feature is limited to 1080p or 2.7K resolutions; for 4K filming, you will use RockSteady 2.0, which provides excellent stabilization but doesn't lock the horizon at extreme angles.
