Product Description

The DJI Mini 3 is the perfect "entry-point" into the world of high-quality aerial photography. It was designed to bridge the gap between the budget-friendly Mini 2 SE and the high-end Mini 3 Pro, offering a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and incredible battery life while staying under the crucial 249g weight limit.

  • Regulation-Friendly Weight: At under 249g, the Mini 3 doesn't require registration or a pilot's license in many countries (like the US or UK) for recreational use, making it the most accessible drone for beginners and travelers.

  • Pro-Level Camera Sensor: It shares the same 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor found in the Mini 3 Pro. With dual native ISO and chip-level HDR, it performs exceptionally well in high-contrast scenes and low-light conditions.

  • True Vertical Shooting: The gimbal can rotate 90 degrees to shoot native vertical video. This means you get full-resolution 4K footage for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts without having to crop and lose quality.

  • Exceptional Battery Life: The standard Intelligent Flight Battery provides up to 38 minutes of flight. If you use the "Intelligent Flight Battery Plus" (available in some regions), that time jumps to a massive 51 minutes—one of the longest flight times in DJI's entire lineup.

  • Wind Resistance: Despite its small size, it features Level 5 wind resistance (up to 38kph), allowing it to stay stable and capture smooth footage even in coastal or breezy environments.

Technical Specifications:

  • Weight: < 249g

  • Sensor: 1/1.3-inch CMOS (12MP)

  • Video: 4K HDR @ 30fps / 2.7K @ 60fps / 1080p @ 60fps

  • Max Flight Time: 38 mins (Standard) / 51 mins (Plus)

  • Transmission: DJI O2 (Up to 10km range)

  • Max Speed: 16 m/s (approx. 36 mph) in Sport mode

  • Aperture: f/1.7 (Great for low light)

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Obstacle Sensing: Unlike the "Pro" version, the standard Mini 3 only has downward vision sensors. It does not have forward, backward, or side sensors. You must be much more careful when flying near trees or obstacles.

  • O2 vs. O3: This model uses the DJI O2 transmission system. While very reliable, the signal range and live-feed quality (720p) are slightly lower than the O3 system found on the Mini 3 Pro or Mavic 3.

🤔 FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
  • How does it differ from the Mini 3 Pro?

The main "sacrifices" to keep the price lower are the removal of the forward and backward obstacle sensors (it only has downward sensors) and the video cap of 4K/30fps (vs. 60fps on the Pro). However, it actually has a longer flight time (38 mins vs 34 mins) because it is slightly lighter and lacks the power draw of the extra sensors.

  • Is the "True Vertical Shooting" just a crop?

No. This is a physical feature. The gimbal is designed to rotate the camera 90 degrees, allowing you to record full-quality 4K portrait video. This is "asjalik" because it uses the entire sensor area for TikTok or Instagram Reels, rather than digitally cropping a landscape shot and losing resolution.

  • Does it require registration?

In most countries (including the US and EU), drones under 249g do not require the same level of registration for recreational use. As long as you use the standard battery, the Mini 3 stays under this limit. Note: Using the "Flight Battery Plus" will push the weight over 250g.

  • How is the range?

The Mini 3 uses DJI O2 (OcuSync 2.0) transmission. While it isn't as robust as the O3 system in the Pro or Mavic 3, it still provides a very stable 10km (FCC) or 6km (CE) range with a 720p live feed, which is more than enough for most scenic flights.

  • Can it handle wind?

Despite its small size, it has Level 5 wind resistance (up to 38 kph). The redesigned airframe and larger propellers make it much more stable in a breeze compared to the older Mini 2.
